Our Projects
Tengbeh Town Red Pump River Cleanup Activity
On October 26, 2024, Operation232 collaborated with the HYBRID Organization to implement the Tengbeh Town Red Pump River project. The aim of this project was to contribute to reducing plastic pollution and promote community environmental awareness. The activity involved over 20 community volunteers, where Operation232 provided over 10 of these volunteers, working together to remove waste and restore the river’s ecosystem, in line with our goal of achieving Sustainable Development Goal 13 (Climate Action).
Project Impacts
Waste Collection:
Successfully removed significant amounts of plastic waste and debris from the Tengbeh Town Red Pump River, improving water flow and ecosystem health.
Community Engagement:
Increased local involvement in environmental conservation, with additional residents volunteering during the cleanup.
Aesthetic Enhancement:
Painted bridge railings, walls, and riverside stones to beautify the area and inspire community pride.
Education & Skill Training
We organise practical workshops, short community presentations, and leadership training sessions to equip local leaders and volunteers with the skills needed to coordinate effective clean-up initiatives. Through these activities, we are able to: promote responsible waste management practices; support community led clean-up campaigns waste; and build long-term behavioral change and environmental stewardship.
Resource Provision & Logistics
Access to adequate resources is a critical motivator for participation. By equipping volunteers and waste collectors with the tools they need, we ensure safer working conditions, improve efficiency, and strengthen the sustainability of our operations. As such, we provide essential protective gear and operational materials at designated collection hubs. These include: waste collection and sorting tools; protective masks & gloves; safety boots; and high-visibility vests etc.
International 2G-Plastic Supply
Women and youth engaged in plastic collection earn daily income based on the number of kilograms of plastic they supply to our processing warehouse. These plastic waste are converted into second generation (2G) recycled plastic materials that are packaged into 100kg bundles and supplied to our partnered international buyers.
Local Plastic Recycling
While we engage international markets, local impact remains our priority. Operation 232 serves as a beacon of innovation and motivation for young people to participate in plastic recycling within their own communities. We extend our recycling efforts by producing value-added products made from recycled plastic, including: reusable shopping bags; sandals; storage containers; water tanks; and other practical household and commercial products.

Our Target SDGs

No Poverty
Operation 232 provides income opportunities through plastic sorting and recycling, which pays collectors and offers health and education incentives for families, thereby improving their economic stability and overall well-being.

Clean Water and Sanitation
Operation 232 works to prevent microplastics and macro-plastic waste from blocking drainage systems, polluting water sources, and damaging marine ecosystems.

Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure
Operation 232 advances innovative recycling technologies and sustainable waste management infrastructure to build resilient, environmentally responsible industrial solutions.

Responsible Consumption and Production
Operation 232 promotes recycling and responsible waste management to reduce the environmental footprint of plastic consumption.

Climate Action
Operation 232 reduces carbon emissions by replacing plastic burning with recycling.

Sustainable Cities and Communities
Operation 232 enhances sustainable waste management practices, contributing to the development of resilient and sustainable urban environments.
